In July 1996, I moved from Southern California to Bozeman, Montana to complete my education at Montana State University; Bachelor of Arts in History/Teaching and Master of Arts. I also tell people that I received my PhD in all things outdoors – fly-fishing, hiking, backpacking, camping and more.
After 12 years in Denver, Colorado, I returned home to Montana, in 2016. It was during my time in Colorado that photography became increasingly important to me. Through the many return trips to my ‘old-backyard,’ I felt the need to establish a visual library of my favorite places as a way for me to hold on to a region that had an unbreakable grip on my sense of place – an emotional and physical bond that could not be broken by distance.
These images became the foundation for KC Geo Images and a way for me to maintain a connectedness to an environment that had made me one of its own. Back in Montana, my home, I am excited to continue exploring the places that inspire me and to share them with you. Enjoy!
